The record

The work

Client builds, the systems I run for myself, the engines I measured and switched off, and the paper trail behind all of it. Every claim here is one I can defend with a receipt.

So Lit City

Launching soon

A full rebuild for a Salt Lake City event production company. The homepage is a run of show: you scroll one event night in order, from load-in to last song.

Behind it sits a multi-tenant client portal where row level security is the tenant boundary, not application filtering. Statically generated, deployed straight to AWS.

  • Next.js 15
  • Tailwind v4
  • Supabase + RLS
  • SST on AWS

So Lit City2026Web design & build

Each beat of the night is its own scroll-scrubbed sequence, pinned to the moment it describes.

03The graveyard

Built, measured, switched off.

The full record

Every portfolio shows the wins; here is the graveyard. Trading engines that ran against real markets with my own money, and what the measurement said. The ones still running earn their place against these.

Directional BTC

No edge on any horizon tested. Retired as a dead end rather than tuned; the range work that replaced it is the part that actually trades.

Baseball

Lost money over its run. It stays off until there is new evidence of an edge, not a new set of parameters fitted to the same data.

Soccer

Nineteen series, about 2,200 deduplicated trades, no significant edge anywhere, and the model's own confidence signal was inverted: its surest bucket did worst.

Copy-trading

The traders worth copying turned out to be arbitrageurs, so copying one leg was naked risk. 31,833 attempts, zero orders placed, removed.

Patterson Homes

Senior Software Engineer

2025-2026

Lehi, Utah

  • Sole engineer for a residential homebuilder's entire software platform: an internal operations portal serving five departments and the public homebuyer-facing marketing site, both TypeScript and Next.js on AWS.
  • 12 or more third-party integrations on a webhook-to-queue-to-worker architecture, using Postgres row-level locking to guarantee exactly-once processing across concurrent Lambda invocations.
  • 9 recurring business workflows automated as scheduled AWS Lambdas, replacing manual analyst work with a daily pipeline.
  • An internal AI assistant on the Anthropic SDK: a multi-turn tool-calling agent with 6 role-aware, database-backed tools that let staff query vendors, change orders and meeting history in plain English.
  • A meeting-to-backlog pipeline: Claude extracts feature requests from recorded meetings and links each to its moment in the transcript, a non-technical coworker triages them on a card wall, and one click opens a ClickUp task and a GitHub issue that fires a workflow to open a draft PR.

RevRoad

Software Engineer, Full Stack

2023-2025

Provo, Utah

  • Embedded with venture-portfolio startups as a technical lead, solving ambiguous problems in unfamiliar stacks and shipping to production on aggressive timelines.
  • A production event-driven serverless backend on AWS CDK, Lambda and EventBridge, plus the CI/CD and developer tooling that let client teams iterate without me.

Yonsei University, Korean Language Institute

Full-Time Korean Language Program

2019-2023

Seoul, South Korea

  • Completed the intensive full-time program and earned the Korean Language Certificate.
  • Shipped machine-learning and fintech side projects alongside it: a TensorFlow NLP sentiment-analysis trading bot over Twitter data, and a React and Redux news reader built against a mocked API layer.

4C Insights

Software Engineer, Full Stack

2016-2018

Seattle, Washington

  • Production features against five third-party advertising APIs, including a system that resolved and linked objects across all five.
  • Time-sensitive Facebook API migrations, coordinating code and database changes to prevent customer-facing breakage.

Microsoft, via Allyis

Software Development Engineer in Test

2016

Seattle, Washington

  • Automated test suites for the retail division, built with Selenium WebDriver and C#.
